Having just removed my OEM 135i BMW performance cross drilled front rotors due to pretty severe cracking across the holes, I can vouch for the lack of reliability. Car was tracked a few times, but I'd only used just over half of the original pads before I noticed the cracking. I never touch the brakes on any of the cool down laps to try and prevent this too.
