Personally, I think BMW should keep the ///M logo specific to those that are 100% M-spec and add the "s" (e.g. 135is, 335is, etc.) to those cars that aren't exactly ///M cars but have a performance upgrade (factory) with some M stuff to it. If BMW is trying to whore-out the ///M to sell more cars, then we are no better than ricers with a fancy badge or oversized muffler attached.
They have been doing this for generations.... It's not new, why u suprised. I do t know how many old 3 series beaters I've seen in Europe with an ///M logo on it just to signify it was a sportier variant. To be honest, the "is" models are more rare than the ///M, and the standard models even more so.
