I went on an off-roading trip to PA about 250 miles away and the battery died halfway through the last day on the trail, i put in a buddys battery, started it and then took his out and put mine back in. Just didn't turn it off for the rest of the day until we stopped for food, then we did the same thing and i drove it all the way home while listening to the radio. Funny story that you just reminded me of. I would say i could live without it saying it, i drive mine very frequently and i now replace my battery before it fails so i'm not dead in the water.
Certainly makes it a bit better. I know on my buddy's Hummer 1 it was a constant issue. When we built up his FJ we popped in a secondary Yellow Top on a circuit that wouldn't allow it to be drained ever and acted as a backup to the first if it got drained.
