I can only tell you 2 things definitively.....there were new nuts included with my kit and I'm not losing any sleep over the fact that there weren't new bolts. First I've ever heard of anything like that but I'm obviously no expert.

Oh...and you better replace your lugnuts too everytime you replace a tire...if anything I'd believe those would be more likely to "stretch".

I could be way off base here as well, so take it for what it's worth. A couple people in that thread are clearly convinced those parts are defective and we're on borrowed time. Come on really? each their own.
