Only time I've used a DSSR in the past was on e30s because the factory selector rod tends to fail over time. Can't say as I've heard of people breaking the one on our car. Has yours failed or are you getting a lot of slop in the mechanism?
I have no issues with the way my shifter feels currently, but this can only improve it. A dual shear design is better in every way, especially when considering the wear that you will get over time with a single shear design. As I'm sure you know, this doesn't reduce throw or reduce vibration, simply makes for a more solid connection between shifter and transmission.
