Is it a Euro BMWP intake? I used to have one fitted, from memory it used the stock airbox but with a new lid and snorkel. Surely that means that the snorkel must be same length as the stock item? I would have thought the bigger issue is that the snorkel is wider than the Turner box so doesn't seal perfectly?
I now run a Euro airbox with Mishimoto silicone intake tube, BMWP air filter and have cut the front of the air box (similar to Ric) next to my Xenon's with a cold feed from the left scoop of the BMWP bumper. Induction sound is a fair bit louder on WOT and maybe placebo but car seems to rev more freely.
