If by "hinge" you mean the retractor roller opening at the top - mine gets twisted there too. PIA.
Plus I'm not used to a 2 door and hate reaching wwwaaayyy back to grab the belt so I bought the BMW issue seat belt holder that attaches to the headrest supports. It keeps the retracted belt right at the side of the seat. Nice in theory but the thing is made so cheaply that it keeps getting unhinged at its bendable joint. I always have to pop it back into place. Another PIA.
