What makes more sense, a carbon fiber heat shield on a quickly made car or the aluminum heat shield that's on every other BMW. Give it up already, the picture in post 617 makes it incredibly obvious.

I think you are confusing yourself. It is you.. that believes, that the two materials are related... I do not.

I fail to see why anyone is referencing the aluminum (diamond wrinkled) heat shield.. which looks somewhat similar (?), but what does that have to do with the area around the left exhaust pipes? (above the exhaust)

Which, to me is easily recognizable as carbon fiber. Dr. Kay said this car wasn't finished and on one of those pictures, you can see the two opening aren't even the same, the other looks like it is missing the CF insert? Plus, none of that is final product and all BMW can be gluing samples on, to see how they conduct, or handle the exhaust heat..? We never know.

If you look, u can see how the weave wraps up and around the inside of that exhaust outlet. That aluminum would displace it's pattern differently..

I do believe there are better pictures out there. This (below) is suppose to be the same car, so obviously, many things are still in prototype phase:

I am saying^^ I am disagreeing with you, because without that aluminum wrinkle wrap.. you'd never be saying this. I feel, you are trying to collude my mind.
