I purchased the same piece and had the same problem. I had mine installed for probable about 4 months and loved it.
I sent the seller a message and he replied back within a couple hours saying he would send me a new one the next day at no cost. Excellent service! I'll update when I receive it if it's different and how it works out.
I'm pleased and impressed so far.
