I had the same issue in my E90 with change. Change would fall out of my right pocket and down the side of the seat. It would then fall into those vents. I wound up taking a flexible plastic stick and wrapped duct tape around it (sticky side). I was able to recover all the change. It's very frustrating to hear money jingle around every time you accelerate or brake.
