Removed the front plate braket on my CPO 1-er and there were actually three screw holes. Apparently, the dealer used a screw that was too long to mount the actual plate
On top of that, there is an outline of the plate bracket where it touched the bumper. I figured a clay bar would take care of it, which it mostly did, but you can still see the markings up close. Also, the bumper plastic is slightly distorted where the screw holes are so. I'm thinking a quality respray is in order after the winter, but it doesn't look too bad right now. Of course, my car is AW so the holes and markings are much more noticeable than they would be on say a black car.
