I agree, many 128i owners who track say the same about pads.

Sometime next month I will be able to compare the brakes as I found a steal for a full 135i stock set. It was just in time for my brake service and the price was right.

I would actually look for the 135i Perf brakes kit, instead of 128i perf brakes.
Because you can try selling the 135i rears and that may save some cash.
Otherwise keep looking for a used 135i caliper set.
