No worries, I remember reading that too and thats why I added a second line of tape on my lip. Maybe Einser will chime in with the speeds which he has tested his lip. I installed his lip about a month ago now, maybe longer.
The surface area to mount the lip is much larger than the spoiler. You can add multiple strips of tape if needed. Total patch at least 6-8 inches wide.
