here are the rules from there tech inspection page...
Roll Bars
All open cars, soft tops, and open race cars, must have adequate roll bars.
The deployable roll bars are adequate. The driver in all open cars will be subject to the broomstick test. Roll bars must be covered with closed cell foam padding in any place where a helmet could come in contact with the bar.
we are going to have to ask if you need to drive with the bar deployed or not..
