Heads up on the PCH:

Be careful going around the turns too fast on the northern part of the 1 between San Loius and Monterey, especially after heavy winds/storms. I cracked a wheel driving up there (wasn't even going that fast) on a modestly sized rock that had fallen the night before. No cell reception, either. Driving 10 miles on a cracked wheel to flag down the first person I see sucks; luckily it was in my beater.

Having made the trip from San Diego to Sacramento many many times (or East Bay sometimes, too.) I have to say the 5 is all sorts of faster. Plus Cops on the 5 generally will not pull you over if you are going under 80 (most likely will pass you) which is NOT true of the 101.

If you are going anywhere on the central coast, like dude said above the 46 is the way to go.

PS hi, just got my 135i mid-April and thought I'd check out some 1-forums.
