I have the hancooks and had no problems in the rain, and it was pouring the other day here.
One of my friends was running the Hancooks on his modified 135i and he was getting consistent 12.2 at the drag races with them. He had no grip problems with them.
You really cant go wrong with either the Hancooks for the PSS's. It all depends on your budget, I didnt think the extra $3-400 for the PSS's was worth it since I drive a lot of highway miles. I took my car to the local dealer to install the tires. I also bought the spare tire kit from Bavauto, its a fantastic ready to go kit.
