So i installed a new light up shift knob which I purchased from bimmian.
(couldn't wait for the oem light up, and thought it would be a good practice to install a new knob until I could get my hands on the oem light up shift knob..)

What I did was this.


1. I unclipped the panel with cig jack+usb+aux behind the ebrake to check the wire colors that leads to the cigarette jack socket. (First Picture)


2. after verifying the colors of the wire (brown wire, green&yellow wire), I tapped in to the wires beside the shifter.
I didn't cut the wire, but rather peeled the insulator off a little to expose the wires and wrapped the shift knob led wires to the exposed cig jack wires.
After, I sealed up everything using the electrical tape. (Second Picture)


3. Now I'm getting a Airbag light and Seatbelt light.. (Third Picture)

Apparently this happens if you do any electrical work without disconnecting the battery first.


I talked to the support of the Bav Tech company and apparently the cable does not support the BMW 1M.

I talked to Terry from BMW and he told me that the warning lights can be deleted by JB4.

I don't really want to take it to the dealers either..


I've been driving around with this light on for 2 weeks now..

Anyone have any idea how I can clear these warning lights?
