My 2008 335i and my 2011 335i never had a fuel pump issue for the nearly 45,000 miles that I drove each. On the other hand, my wife's 2008 535XiT are a fuel pump and spark plugs in the first year we had it. BMW flat bedded the car out of our garage twice.
