They want turbo as Audi and the jap., BMW gives it they say it has lag so they want a high reving M car, a CSL. BMW gives them GTS they say it is nothing special, they could make better themselves for cheaper. They ask a supercar, BMW brings it out they don't like it (M1 Hommage).
I would really like to see how many of you have a faster, better driving and in the same time relaible M3 than the M3 GTS? I would also like to see how many of you have a faster, better driving and the reliable 135i than the 135M/M1? I would like to know who of you has a better X6 xDrive50i than X6 M?
Of cours you all know everything better than BMW (I know some of you do).
Now about he M1:
M1 Coupé (E87) : 3.0l L6 Twin-Turbo 380 hp.
M1 Hatch (F20) : 2.0l L4 Twin-Turbo 320 hp.
The M1 we speek about is the one based on the actual generation and is the last car in this category to have 6 cylinders. The next 1 series will only have 4 cylinders. I really hope it will be called M1. I don't want the M1 to be a hybride supercar, but better a turboed E30.
But I think BMW has to rename all models:
All 0-9 series should be called B. Example:
135i ------> B1 sDrive35i
760i ------> B7 sDrive60i
Z4 as is---> Z4 sDrive28i
X5 as is---> X5 XDrive35d
And so on it will give
B1 (1 series hatch)
B2 (1 series coupe/convert)
B3 (3 series sedan/touring)
B4 (3 series coupe/convert)
B5 (3 series sedan/touring)
B6 (6 series coupe/convert)
B7 (7 series sedan
B8 (8 series coupe/convert)
Z2
Z4
X1
X3
X5
X6
M models should just have an M added as
Z4----->Z4 M
and
X6----->X6 M
In this way:
M3 Coupé---->B4 M. And what for for it to be called M3, it will no more have high reving engines.
All these M should just be as they are, like X5 and X6 M: big, comfortable, expensive, prestigious, powerfull, torquy and so.
But BMW should reserect the real ones and call them M1, M3, M5 and maybe M12 for the McLaren F1. These should be high reving NA engines, very light cars without any comfort features, just as their predecesors:
M1 (supercar): 3.5l L6 NA 455 hp, 1.100 kg
M3 (coupé): 3.0l L6 NA 390 hp, 1.300 kg
M5 (sedan): 4.0l V8 NA 500 hp, 1.500 kg
M12 (hypercar): 6.0l V12 NA 750 hp, 1.000 kg
