We actually read the sensors directly. OBD is nice but slow. Our controller will read within a couple ms vs can bus which probably updates 2 or 3 times a second. We get the rpm signal either at the ECU or with a tach adapter at the coil pack. with boost the stock map sensor will be accurate, if not we have a transducer option.
