I can't help myself but laugh at some of these suggestions. OBD port lock? Seriously? Those are pro car thieves we are dealing with, they will open that "lock" with a screw driver. If they are up to a level where they can clone a key fob in a matter of minutes, I am pretty sure they will deal with a lock much quicker.
We need some serious software tweaking on BMW's part to sort this out. A postbox type of lock won't save your OBD port from being accessed.
