Glad to hear you got it sorted. One thing to consider: the function of the tensioner is not just about the pulley, but the spring as well. If that spring gets weak enough to let the belt move around you'll have a problem. I consider the idler pulley and tensioner assembly maintenance items on these motors. I don't know what your mileage is, but if it's north of 60-70k miles, I'd replace those items proactively. I'm admittedly a bit fanatical about maintenance, but given the potential damage if one of these fails I consider it money and time well spent.
