Some of it is real. Then again some of it is composited by building a similar helipad and using Blue screen to composite a real background shot from the exact angle from a helicopter mounted with a gyro-cam.
You are actually not allowed to do driving that on top of a building, especially in LA. On a sound stage is fine and safer. The authorities are not in favour of having a performance car fall on to the streets and unfortunate people wishing they were in a 1M ,when going about their business?
It was the same with the Walls - The car was real but the "walls" were digitally created to give you that illusion.
