They were darker than I thought too
I'm glad actually. Slightly lighter than black so it shows off the spokes/shape a bit better.
The newer centrecap came out in late 2009 I think, which has a chrome ring around the badge and is slightly convex.
We've got 2008 cars which came with centrecaps that have a plastic ring (mine had faded and were yellowing) and was a flat shape. My E46 from 2001 had this design so I was a bit disappointed they still had them in 2008.
These look much sharper IMHO
Can't go wrong for $13 each!
