I had a 2013 X1 loaner today and found myself almost t-boned when there was a noticeable lag during a speedy left turn across traffic... then, later, at a stoplight I looked at the RPM gauge and saw that it was at zero. I tried to restart to no avail. When I finally gave up and took my foot off the brake, the engine came to life!

I learned about these 'auto-shutoff' things the hard way. There really ought to be a label somewhere; the dealer said nothing about it.

I did like not watching my MPG go down while at a light.

Compared to my 128 the X1 seemed a bit jerky starting off, and felt cheap when opening and closing the doors. It felt nice to sit in and was appointed well. 4 cylinder turbo? 8 forward speeds? A lot different than the 128i for sure!
