I oil spray and salt wash my other vehicles once a year. Been doing so since the 80's. With the BM I know the gauge of the sheetmetal and the coatings and the finish is a bit better, but steel is steel and moisture and salt will eventually have its effects.

Every time I switch out the wheels I use a brush and Krown (I buy a 4L jug) and coat most everything I can reach. Maybe that'll do it. I want to pass the car down to my 9 year old when he gets old enough to drive, so I want it to last.

Ps. BMW says 10 years against perforation, which is good, but I do see rust on older BMW's. Just like the 25000kms between oil changes - for 160,000kms it's no problem but beyond that I wonder...
