Yeah I have full glass coverage (no deductible) and I don't pay any extra for it. They steer me to Safelite (I have used them other cars) but I believe you can go to the dealer for factory glass if you want. The advantage of using Safelite (or similar) is they will come to you to do the repair rather than leaving it at the dealership while they apparently spend 5.5 hours fixing it. Maybe that includes watching the glue dry.

On my Acura TL Safelite did the window and the next major rain storm I noticed a slight drip on the passenger side but no big deal and didn't worrry about it as it was only a drip or two and only when it rained really really hard. Then maybe a year and a half later it started dripping significantly more so I called Safelite and they came out to re-glue it.

That didn't work so they put a whole new windshield on it and it was fine after that.

I think my sister gets a new free windshield like once a year.
