well, if you're going to keep the car a long time, i think the 128i is the better choice. my sense it's cheaper all around to own: -cheaper insurance, -cheaper tires, -less frequent tire replacement, -less speeding tickets, -probably fewer mechanical issues down the line.

I do sometimes think about a 135i, but in the long run I want a lower cost of ownership so no regrets here.
