I have had them installed since I got them. I have no problem driving at night with them in and think they help with the big SUV/Trucks that seem to have their lights aimed too high. I had no issue in the rain either. I think these would be the equivalent of tint but I have very little exposure to tint. I think the only time you would have an issue with visibility out the back is during a heavy rain where the person behind did not have their lights on.

I have not had enough hot weather to gauge how much of a difference the sunshades make.
