My engine makes that same sound. Right around 2K revs, on light accel. If you rev the engine up while stopped you can hear it. It sounds just like (light) engine knock... but... when you depress the clutch pedal... the "knock" goes away. I think it must be something in the dual flywheel. I think it is just one more noise/sound that these cars make. Like the tapping on cold start that goes away after one minute. This engine makes all sorts of weird noises that seem to be "normal". I am not too worried about it.
