The AA Tune is actually and ECU tune. The BMS is a piggyback that you will have to reset every so often.
If you want the option to go back to normal settings with the AA tune you will have to purchase their handset to do it yourself. Normally BMW will not look for that specific modification in your ECU (but they can void it if they feel necessary).
Installation at a 3rd party place is a one time thing. As they charge you labor for installing it ~100-250$... so you wouldn't keep uninstalling/installing
