No, they are good questions. Unfortunately, the long term reliability of of the DCT is unknown at this point with it being relatively new. What can be said for sure is that it is a more complex transmission compared to a traditonal manual. There have been some cases with the DCT in the M3 that have included lag, only selecting either odd or even gears, or even refusing to shift gears entirely. I beleive all of those cases were handled under warranty, so it's hard to say how much it could cost out of warranty until we hear from any owners who experience these issues once out of warranty.
