another hook position option

The rubber hold down straps look good for light things, but the cargo hooks can work for this plus handle heavy items. Some posters have raised concerns about the high position of the forward-side hooks shown in the diy. Sometimes it is a good idea to actually take a look at the car. Why not use use the slots and threaded holes in the floor at front of the trunk? For this you only need the hooks (mounting loops) and bolts with regular lower profile heads in the style of your choice. The tall shoulder bolts in the side mount kit are too tall to fit properly under the trunk mat. The trunk mat is not difficult to cut. I dremeled the slots and used a knife to finish. This doesn't look nearly as sano as the factory kit, but it is fully functional and gives a low mounting option. Pull up the trunk mat to fold the loops down when you need to slide something up into the back seat. Otherwise, they are rarely seen and out of the way just behind the seat. The camera was not optimally set up to focus on the whole scene but you can still get the idea.
