Within the ranges we are talking about camber changes will have very little impact on tire wear. Excessive Toe-in(out) is the worst contributor to accelerated tire wear.

I ran -2.0 deg front camber and zero toe on my E36 M3 and tire wear was pretty normal. The suggestion for the rear was to take out a little of the negative camber (especially if the car is lowered), which will help even out wear. I'm at -1.5 L&R camber in the rear with the 135i, but I'm not lowered.
