There are three types of tint:

Regular dye tint, worst of the worst. This will fade purple after some time.

To prevent the purple fade there is metalic dye tint, it will keep its color but the metal will block radio reception, cell phone reception, radar detectors, etc. Metallic is more expensive than the regular dye.

The most expensive kind is the ceramic tint, it does not fade and does not have the issues metalic dye has with the interference.
