If you are not car savvy and cannot do your own work- or at the very least have a very good understanding of car mechanicals if someone else does the work....get the warranty. I never get warranties as I have been around cars and have always performed my own routine maintenance work- and even some more involved work since I was a teenager. So I go with the factory warranty and make sure maintenance is performed on or ahead of schedule. And especially with oil and fluid changes on BMW's- suggested manufacturer intervals are way too long.
