Major props to MHD Flash Tuner
Here's the story:
I was installing the Cobb Accessport Stage 1 tune on my 2008 135i N54.
We had an unfortunate incident with the battery tender as it failed halfway through the flash. This caused the dme to go into a 'recovery mode'. The Cobb would not connect to the dme regardless of all the dme hard reset tactics being attempted. I did research, contacted other N54 owners and even called four local BMW dealerships. All of the dealerships told me the dme was fried and would not be salvageable.
At this point it looked as if I was spending $2000+ at a dealer to have a brand new dme installed and coded. I came across one thread about one guy having success pulling his dme out of recovery mode with the MHD flash tune. With the $150 cost of MHD I figured it was a minimal gamble to take.
Once I received all of my cables and purchased the flash along with a new battery charger I started the flash. The MHD software immediately detected the dme issue and flashed it with NO hiccups. This flash potentially saved me $1800!
