Yes, but I used rubber expansion nuts on my e30 M3 splitter. These give a secure mounting but will pull out if the splitter snags on something and it makes the part removable at will.
You can find these on eBay, amazon, Grainger, Home Depot, Lowe's. Take your pick.
Just add big washers under the screw.
