I agree with you on the cloth, but the leatherette look exactly like leather to most eyes. Cloth looks like cloth. Brand IMAGE.

Mini is not meant to be a premium brand going against the likes of Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche. Mini is intended to be a light-hearted, fun, youthful car.
