1M Coupe at BMW's Welt today... (PHOTOS!!!!)

1M at BMW’s Welt…

Well… the temptation to see the new 1M in the flesh so to speak was too much for me to resist! So… off I drove to Munich today. The car is mostly covered up… but you can see some cool details. Its not enough for me to place an order… but I do think the car will be a hit. Plus it looks good. I can only imagine what it all looks like uncovered.

The nice people at the Welt were friendly and curious as to why I was taking so many pics. Lol I kind of got the impression that they have not been told a whole lot about this car. They had no real info. Some only heard what was said on the internet. Some did not know a thing.

One cool thing I did learn about the Welt… is that they now have two M3’s and one M6 available to Welt guests to test drive. They only charge 32 euros per hour! What a deal! Next time I’m going to take them up on their offer!

The 1M tender’s did tell me the 1M car will be on display at the Welt some time in December. They thought the first week or so – in Dec. I wonder if South or Scott can confirm this. They also said the 1M will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in December.

It was really hard to see anything new to report on. One thing is the rear valance trim. It looked to me like some sort of polished plastic. Or maybe painted plastic in an off grey/black color. It was NOT carbon fiber! I really could not see anything special about the headlights. They looked to me like the euro spec Xeons without adaptive feature. I am sure production cars will have adaptive (curve) lights. They had a special inner sun shade on the inside of the windshield. You could not see anything inside the car! That pretty much just left the exhaust and wheels and brakes to drool over.

Ok, onto my photos…

Enjoy,
Dackel
