Yes, your assessment is about right on the Hawk DTC series pads on rotor wear and pad wear. Most of the race pads I have seen are not easy on the rotors cold or warm, but once hot they are okay.
I'll get you a price on the PFC08's and shoot them over.
There is also a CL brand of pads, which are very expensive, but very good. Here is more info on the CL RC6E:
