I served 15yrs overseas consecutively so I never noticed, but since I've been back stateside (2yrs now), I'm amazed at how many stores/vendors say and have banners/posters that say "We support our Troops" and when I ask for a military discount...nothing, they say "let me get the Manager and maybe he can give you 10% off".
