Most of the problems with German vehicles stem from electronics and the more electronic controls and switchgear they add, the more the Germans seem to suffer from initial and first year quality surveys. The U S and asian manufacturers are a bit more conservative in their approach to incorporating complex electronics and therefore fare better, overall.
