So looked again today and tucked away near the top of the wheel well is the other part of the hose. It is folded over and ziptie sealed. This should explain i guess why the vacuum system hasnt had any issues? So I guess it should be ok then?

Yep. Sounds like someone already did the mod. Did you buy the car used?
