It happened on my 3 series. It is most likely your belt is rubbing on the seat when you get in/out of the car. BMW replaced the leather on my seat, no touch up; they did the whole back seat cover. After that I made sure I did not rub the seat getting in/out. I have had a Z4 and 135i since then and no issues.

I don't wear a belt. Also, I pretty much always wear pants thet are 100% cotton and on the soft side.
