As far as teh pulling left or right, make sure your new brackets are still tight. Generally pull when braking hard can be attributed to only a few things. Air in the lines, which to fix you should bleed them again. Irregularities in the road surface, generally public roads will have these. Or a bad alignment.
thanks for the quick reply. what grit should i hit them with? Just enough to scuff them up, or enough to take all the pad material off the rotor?

I'll check the torque on the caliper bracket bolts, and all the suspension bolts this weekend.
