What I am saying is there is NO mechanical old school thermostat that opens and closes via temper'd/metal spring - like say in an e36 or e46 car.

Yeah, I understand. I am not going against what you said. I was just adding on top of what you said. I haven't heard of any radiator swaps yet so it would be interesting to know how people control the coolant with a new, enlarged radiator.
