OP - That's a good price for powder coating four wheels. Shops around Southern California generally charge $300-400 for the set on average I'd say. Powder coating is really durable, and if the shop knows what they are doing, you should be happy with the outcome.

You could always strip them down, and clean up the rash yourself, then send them out to get coated. Shouldn't take longer than a weekend to clean them up!
