My advice is to go for a set of coilovers over a set of springs for the 1M. I've been on the track with a stock 1M and can see that it still has body roll and weight transfer. It's quite noticeable and I could really see the difference when watching some video taken from the pitlane of a 1er with coilovers setup properly and a stock 1M. Not saying it's mandatory (like it is on a stock suspension 135i which is a mini boat) but if you're serious about driving on the track I highly recommend coilovers. I believe KW have fully adjustable coilovers for the 1M that can be adjusted with an app on your iphone. That's what I would be looking into mainly because they are quality coilovers and the ease of use. Basically you will get more value in getting coilovers for a 135i, but I still see the benefit in getting them for a 1M as there's still room for improvement.
