I am starting to get into the NY AutoX season as well as planning on getting track time under my belt, and hopefully getting involved in timed events over the summer. I've read a little about using the M3 18" rim setup with different tires for the track/racing but was hoping to get some suggestions/pointers from those of you with much more experience!

I love the M and my first autoX was the most fun I've ever had driving a car period. I've made the decision I want to get more serious about this and realize the stock tires and setup are not going to cut it.

I am looking for your suggestions on tires/rims/pressures etc... As far as $$ go I simply cannot afford $3500 setups that I wish I could, but would like to get something mid range.
